WHY I SAY WHEN I'M NOT YELPING I'M ADDICTED TO GETTING LASER HAIR REMOVAL ^_^
I've been getting lasered here for nearly a year now, since I discovered Blu Cocoon and the owner Cristina based on the great reviews on Yelp! I get my Brazillian, legs and lip area done and I can't tell you how happy I am with the results! Believe me ladies, IT IS SO WORTH IT to not have to shave my damn legs and underarms everyday! I've been to other laser hair removal medspas, and this is by far my favorite one.
Let me tell you, I am so glad I found Cristina for the fantastic results I see and the excellent service I receive! Cristina, who is also the cofounder, is very honest, upfront and not pushy whatsoever. During my appointments, she's personablle, funny and also compassionate! When you are getting lasered or waxed, not only is it important to have someone that is highly competant, but it's also important to find someone that is compassionate when you are getting your hair ripped or zapped off of you!
*Tip* Do not get lasered the week before your period when you are extra sensitive, because it's not the laser that hurts more it's you!
After my first visit, I quickly noticed results, approximately a 20% reduction for my Brazillian area, and believe me I don't miss those hairs whatsoever, haha. After just a few sessions for my Brazillian area, I was amazed that I hardly noticed anything down there at all! NO MORE BRAZILLIAN WAXES, YAY! And no more shaving! Woo hoo! I wish I had done this sooner, and hadn't wasted my time and money getting Brazillian waxes. For my lip area, just 2-3 sessions seemed to zap the peach fuzzies where I had to look really hard to find them, haha. The lasers there seem and are more effective than the other medspas I have been to. It does feel a bit more painful, to be perfectly honest, but I'd rather suck it up and see better results for my money! Hey, no pain no gain right? It's better than having to endure and pay for more sessions with a laser that isn't as effective! Even more, the lidocaine pain cream used to numb you is INCLUDED with your service! At other places, it's considered optional and can cost you anywhere from $35-50 for a little tube! You want the pain cream ladies.
It's also really important that you find someone that you're comfortable with, especially when that someone is pointing a laser gun at your private parts, lol. Cristina is absolutely wonderful, and we gab and laugh on and on during our treatments. Her staff as well is a reflection of the owner's professionalism and ease of which to work with!
As for pricing, the per treatment prices are very reasonable and a better value than many of the other places I called if you are unsure about getting a package deal or just want to try it out if it's your first time. However, I recommend going straight for multisessions, as you'll soon be an addict like me once you get started ;-p Plus, you get a 10% discount if you purchase 5 or more treatments to save you more money. If after 5 treatments you still need more sessions, it's 50% off thereafter. A while back, she mentioned a deal she was having on underarms, legs and I believe lip as well. The best way to find out about specials is to sign up for the newsletter. It sounded like a great deal!
The facilities are nice, new and very clean. It's always no fuss to make an appointment as the appointment times are flexible in terms of evening and weekend appointments. Parking is also a breeze, so less stress.

Love Blu Cocoon. Cristina and Cecilia are both great. I get Laser Hair Removal done by both of them. They make it as painless as can be and are really sweet. I notice a big difference after each session and I highly recommend!
I finally had the courage to go through the laser hair removal so found this place through yelp. OMG, Cristina is amazingly funny and thorough. The staffs there makes you feel really comfortable. I made an appointment for a consultation and I was so pumped that I was ready for the real thing that day. Luckily, Cristina was able to squeeze me in. I bought the package and just within my first treatment, I noticed a huge difference.
I am a wimp when it comes to pain but I survived so will you! The smell of burning hair was kind of gross and all I was chanting was "the price I pay for beauty" and soon enough it was. I'll be going in for my second visit soon and I doubt it will be as painful as the first time. Oh, btw, they do put on this numbing cream to help with the pain.
Lipodissolve is the next way to lose a teeny weeensy bit of pudginess around the pelvic area from which my daughter had been growing in for 9 months...

I love you. You guys are always fabulous. I cannot thank you enough for injecting me with some funny tingling feeling solution, in which I hope to give myself a little bit of hope and little bit of sexy back. Giving birth to my daughter almost 5 years ago was never the challenging part. The challenging part is regaining the body I once had before she decided to stretch out several body parts. And like all hopeless women I've done it all!!! From weight loss pills to extreme dieting, to nearly starving myself and well nothing until the last year.
With my goals of bringing sexy back I had to call out the super team which includes the one and only Ray from Iso-Tonix Personal Training, Paulo from Ego Mechanix, and Cristina from Blu Cocoon. I've been working out for nearly a year now ( I barely decided to get off my ass since my daughter was born last August ). Since then I've lost some weight and have toned up significantly. The problem is always targeting that damn belly and yes I do have stretch marks which I have goals to cut off, but for now...I need the fat dissolved!!
Cristina was great at letting me know what exactly it was that I was doing, what was in the solution and how it works. I hate when people sell you things and say "Alright great thanks...GOOD BYE..." and you're like..."OKAY THANKS WTF" Not with the staff at Blu Cocoon, they are so friendly and knowledgeable, funny as hell, and great. I wish I could just come in there every day to hang out, shoot the shit, and chit chat, but they are WAY TOO BUSY FOR THAT EVERYDAY!!!
I love you Blu Cocoon and I will definitely be back and Cristina...Let's take over the Philippines!!! $900 down payment to a beach house, in my back pocket!! hahah

This is as good as it gets. I'll bare my soul a little here. I'm an aging hipster and over the last couple of years I started noticing age [sun] spots on my cheeks and lines around my mouth [nasolabial folds] from not enough sun block and too many cigarettes when I was younger.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. I live in the Garden Alameda neighborhood and make an effort to frequent the businesses in my area, which includes going into Target with canvas bags (which really freaks out their cashiers) While leaving Target, I saw a sign outside of Blu Cocoon which read "Wrinkle Free Friday". It was too tempting to resist. I went in and made an appointment for a consultation. My partner and I went into the consultation together and they weren't phased by the gay thing (not too shocking in 95126, but you never know). Cristina and Tamara made me feel comfortable and explained the procedures and the benefits. I left with a box of Retin-A and an appointment for Restalyne.
Today I had the Restalyne done and the results are amazing. The change is very subtle, but I look 10 years younger. Cristina was great during the procedure and made sure that I was comfortable and felt no pain. I left with a clear idea of what to expect over the next couple of weeks. She also made sure that I left clean and with just the right amount of tinted lotion on my face so that no one but me knew that I had a procedure done.
Would I go back? I bought my second treatment at a $100.00 discount and look forward to going back.
If anybody has any skin problems whatsoever...go to Blu Cocoon MedSpa! with regular facials, and the use of a clinical line called "Obagi" (cleanser, moisturizer, and more) my complexion is better than it's ever been! I don't even have to get monthly facials like I used to...cause Obagi keeps my complexion so clear!!

I actually started coming here because of a Yelp review! I am addicted now!!! Everyone there is super nice, and they don't make you feel uncomfy AT ALL! I would highly rec. this place to any person looking to do laser hair removal :)

05/21/08 - So, I hate to say this publically...but as I'm getting older I noticed that I was getting more facial hair. It was bugging me to no end and I decided to get laser hair removal. I looked on Yelp and saw that Blu Cocoon had crazy good ratings so I went in for a consultation....and came out of it purchasing multiple treatments...as well as my bf doing so, too. HA HA
Cristina is amazing...her personality...her skills!!! I was so nervous to go because I started getting adult acne a few years ago and I didn't want anything else to go wrong with my face. She even talked to me on the phone to say "get in here, silly!" I finally went last Saturday and had NO reaction! I could not believe it. Even my bf has a slight reaction and I am the one with sensitive skin. (Of course, everyone has different reactions.)
Everything about the experience was terrific...their reminder calls, the emails I get from them, the way they greet you when you enter and my treatment sessions. I feel blessed to have found them and Cristina. I'm recommending her to everyone I know!

So I got to admit that Yelp got me to this spa. I was skeptical at first because I don't believe in hype unless I experience it myself ;-) So I called to make a reservation, they told me all booked up for 2 weeks. Then they offered me on the waiting list, next thing I know they got me in a week earlier, 1 STAR!
The place wasn't that big, but super clean & everything seems new. They offer Obagi products & make up & all the services in the world that a woman would want!
Then Cristina came out, she was so pretty, nice & also has such a warm personality. After 15 minutes talking to her, next thing I know, I booked up the next 3 meetings!
I got to be out of town next week, so I asked if I could have my service done earlier, Cristina canceled her lunch to take care of me!! I couldn't believe it, that kind of service I get it at the Four Seasons or the Ritz, not at a Med Spa in San Jose!! She didn't try to up sell or add on at all. All I can say that I heart this place & I can't wait to take my Mom here ;-)

Cristina and her team are amazing. All of them makes you feel right at home. I've gotten the laser treatment and a facial there and both are great. Well the laser hurts a little on the second time but the results are wonderful! I just had my 2nd treatment and it really shows!
Another great part is that they dont push you to buy products. And they dont tell you that you need this and that and stump on your self esteem. They just answer whatever question you have about yourself! Plus Cristina even does consultations over yelp! How great is that???

I'm so glad I found Blu Cocoon on Yelp! Cristina gave me a thorough consultation and answered all my questions. She is cheerful, easy to talk to , gives you an honest and professional assessment which I appreciate a lot. Most importantly, unlike some other medical spas, she wouldn't try to sell you products or procedures that you didn't even know you needed!! I am looking forward to going back for a facial in the near future.

I visited this place today, and honestly I have to say it's okay. I was introduced to this place by my tanning salon (Planet Beach). They presented me with a gift certificate for a VibraDermabrasion.
The VibraDermabrasion was worth 150$ and if I wasn;t presented the gift certificate I wouldn't get this on a basis. Maybe a facial...but certainly not this. I have to say the staff is friendly and the lady that did my face was extremely nice and had great customer service.
There was a wait before i was seen, and there was only once person working at the time, and it would be more convient to have more than one staff member doing facials or what not. Because I went with my girlfriend and it would've been better back to back.
I do think the prices are super expensive, and if you look hard enough there are spa salon out there that are much cheaper. As a struggling college student, I think some of the prices are a little too much.

Blu Cocoon offers a lot of products and services. I really only had questions about two of them and was seriously interested in one: Botox. All my questions were answered and on top of that Christina took the time to educate me about the product, process, risks, what a reasonable expectation might be, and aftercare.
You know what was really the best part? Cristina didn't do that thing they do at the makeup counter. You know the thing I mean: shove a mirror and a magnifying glass in my face and tell me I'm some kind of hag and try to scare me into a lot of products and services. Instead, Cristina asked me why I was there and what are my concerns. She never mentioned what SHE thinks I need and I'm not sure she'd tell me if I even asked because she values my opinion of my appearance over her own opinion of my appearance. That goes beyond service. That is being a good and kind human being.
UPDATE - I've been back to Blu Cocoon. I've been using the Obagi NuDerm system which was prescribed to me by Cristina, the goddess of skin perfection. It's been less than 2 weeks and my skin is unbelievably gorgeous, smooth and soft like a baby's bum, and acne free. Yay for Blu Cocoon and double yay for my skin!!

I had a very pleasurable experience of coming here based solely on other Yelpers reviews. You guys did great!!
Im a big advocate on skin care and I'm happy I tried their:
-vibradermabrasion ($99)
-regular facial ($99)
as a package and it was well worth it. Im sure you're curious about the ambiance of the place. It was nicely decorated with contemporary style furniture with paintings and little details like white orchids around the area. When you first arrive you are greeted by the friendly receptionist who offers a drink - tea, bottled water etc., while you wait. You attend a consult initially and Christina (owner) was very helpful in this respect. She cheerfully answers all your questions and gives good information and explains the processes thoroughly.
I had Adrian as my aesthetician and she was very helpful and offered excellent service. The experience was pleasant and she gave informative points on skin care. I appreciated her down-to-earth personality.
I left with Supracor exfoliator ($12) and it works great. Im an ultrasound technologist back in school for my master's so its a little on the pricey side for us starving-college kids but its well a worth-it treat.
My skin was rough the first day and I left it product-free and now after the top layer has been thoroughly flaked off.... The new skin is soft, supple and smooth!!! I am VERY satisfied with their services!

I decided to call and schedule a consultation. I was told to come in two weeks or so. The receptionist told me that the facility could do the first treatment when I come in. I was happy after hearing this. At the same time, I was worried since this was the first time for laser treatment. I met with Christina, the consultation treatment. She went over everything I needed to know about the procedure. I then went to the laser room. I was then directed to take off my shirt and to lay down on the table. She rubbed some numbing cream around the treatment area. I then waited for approximately 20 minutes. Christina returned to start the laser treatment after making sure the numbing cream had taken affect. The procedure took approximately 5 minutes. I could not believe that the procedure was not that bad for the first time. I cannot wait for the second treatment in 6weeks. I had purchased another laser treatment before I left the facility. I would totally recommend this facility to anyone looking for a facility that performs a permanent hair removal procedure.

The folks at Blu Cocoon are AWESOME. The staff is very helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable, and very easy on the eyes (especially the manager Susan aka...my wife).
The energy is great from the moment you walk in the door until the time you leave. No pressure to just spend, spend, spend. They really want you to be satisfied with their services and to get exactly what you want out of you treatments.
They take a real personal interest in who you are and cater to you as an individual. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a place where the staff really cares and you get the most for your $$$.
***UPDATE: to date I have sent 5 of my clients to Blu Cocoon and they are so happy I referred them.

Update:
After having two session of laser treatments I can really see a difference in my eyes. She did the tightening above my brow and it seems higher now. Plus my under eye puffiness is really reduced. Shit, all those creams I've bought more than add up to the package price.
I think they worked out the new opening issues, or maybe I originally got them on a bad day. Anyway, I was in and out in a flash last Friday!

I just wanted to try Botox but I ended up getting an eye package with several different treatments. Thanks to my Scottish and Irish heritage I'm blessed with red, flushed skin. Add in 1 1/2 years of trying tanning beds and Mystic Tan and you have a recipe for aging. (yes I stopped tanning!)
Cristina suggested many different options, but I didn't feel obligated to buy any of them. I didn't mention that I had my Esthetician license to see if everything she said about skin and treatments was on the up and up. It was. She's really funny and upbeat too.
The facility is nice and brand new. Parking is easy and when I was early for my appt I headed over to Cost Plus to browse around.
They have everything from facials to Botox, Restalyne, Refirme and laser hair removal. Their prices are good also. They are not expensive but right above the lowest price I found....and would you want the super cheap medispa injecting botulism into your face?

12/20/07 - Update...I just had a laser hair removal treatment yesterday. I have had them before and I must say this was the best experience I have had. All of the people that work there are genuinly so nice and helpful. They make you feel comfortable during treatment and are very easy to talk to. Again I think that this is the best MedSpa around.
Blu Cocoon Med Spa is awesome! I have been to at least 4 other medical spas for various treatments. Blu Cocoon is by far the best! The office is small, but because of that the personal treatment you get is awesome. Every time I have been in there all of the staff is very cheerful, and knowledgeable. The consultant was able to answer all of my questions and offered suggestions as to what treatments to get, I never felt pressure to get anything done, but ended up getting a package of treatments on my own.
All I have to say is that they are really great!!

Loved this place and Cristina, the owner. The facilities and staff were very professional. I had laser hair removal and no pain! I spent an extra 30minutes for the numbing cream application (which is included in the price of laser hair removal) and it is well worth the time it takes to let the numbing cream do its job. Unfortunately I am moving out of state but Cristina found another medspa for me in Florida and will give the owner a call once I have my first appointment set up, just to be sure they treat me right. So great! So professional! I will really miss going to her for all my treatments!
Simply the best Med Spa!!! The staff, owners, facility and service is definitely impeccable, knowledgeable and a bunch of of awesome fun group of people.
The treatments I received were awesome and definitely effective. Best Botox, Facial, Vibraderm and Lipolite I've ever gotten!!!!

What's more? She put me at ease, which is important to me.
Update 1:
After my first treatment, I can continue to say "so far, so good." The staff continues to be friendly and personable and having found this place after reading a few yelp reviews, I'm happy to contribute to assist other yelpers in finding the trust to go in for a consult.
Update 2:
I'm nearing the end of my treatments (5th sessions to come in the next few months for all areas, but one). I've seen dramatic results in some areas. "So far, so good."
Overall- Cristina is personable and cheery. She's a treat to be around. The staff is pretty good too. They have clean a facility, that is nicely decoarted to boot. I did a ton of research on Laser Hair Removal before signing up and I have to say their prices are fair. They are not the cheapest around, but there is far more expensive as well. And to be honest, I wouldn't go too cheap if someone is taking a laser to me!
Overall, I'm very happy. I will provide one last update on LHR after my treatments are done. Hopefully, I'll be done done done after my 5th session, but who knows? :)

I love the Blu Cocoon staff. I went to Blu Cocoon because I wanted to have lipo dissolve performed on my arms (I suffer from FAS - fat arm syndrome). Anyways, if you LOOK at my arms, they don't look terrible, but once you feel them, you realize my bones are pencil thin. During my consult, Christine originally thought that I didn't need the procedures (and told me so), but I let her feel the flab and she agreed to help me. I thought - well that's refreshing, someone who's honest, even if it means she would lose a customer. The Blu Cocoon staff are truly there to provide an experience (not to sell you services that you don't need). The spa is clean and relaxing, and the staff are incredibly friendly, professional, funny, and gorgeous! I had my first set of lipo dissolve, and I can already FEEL the difference (literally, my arms are now the consistency of firm tofu instead of silken). I'm happy with just one treatment, and I can't wait to get my next!

Clean place, knowledgeable staff. I was nervous about the skin tightening treatment for my neck. The initial visit pretty much answered all of my questions. After the first treatment, I noticed a definite tightening! I'm looking forward to my next visit.

I love this place! I got a coupon in the mail for $50 off my first visit. I think this is because I live next door to them at Legacy Fountain Plaza and somehow their marketing found me.
The staff is great! I'm especially fond of Cristina because I've had a couple of appointments with her.
If you are considering anything, seriously just come in. You won't regret it. There isn't any pressure and they are very welcoming and informative. Cristina explains medical concepts and the processes very well. You can ask her anything and she will give you her honest opinion. There are so many procedures to learn about that will make you want to try them out but she will honestly tell you either you do or don't need it and realistically how long it will take to see results.
I also had a facial here with Miros. She's very knowledgeable. What I like about her is that she totally understands the chemical aspects of all the products. Some relaxing fancy spas will just use a product and do the standard stuff but don't fully understand how it works (ex. InSpa). After her facial, god was I ugly!! This is the cleanest effective facial I've received. The extractions hurt more than at other places. After, I thought I was going to scar because I was so red and felt a bit raw from the extractions. But the next day my skin clarity definitely improved. A few days later the spots just disappeared. So I really feel she knew her stuff and did the extractions cleanly with precision. It wasn't like she was poking and pushing on a pimple waiting for it to pop. She knew how to handle each one depending on its condition. Definitely worth the 95 bucks! However, I still love going to non-medical based spas as well because I like organic yummy smelling products (Eminence) compared to blah medical grade products.
I'm curious, are you supposed to tip at medical spas as well? I did anyway but I don't know if you have to or not since I didn't tip for other services there.

This place is too awesome for cohesive sentences...so, here we go. Immaculate medical spa, with tasteful decor. Genuinely friendly staff members--no hoity toity people who make you feel uncomfortable to be not wealthy and bitchy at the same time. Open spa that makes you feel comfortable with any and all questions about services and personal care. Great service as I received a follow up call, message, and thank you card; aww, snail mail! Beautiful staff who all look at least five years younger than they actually are. No pushy services and no clowning on my usage of some drugstore brand skincare products or of my cleaning my makeup brushes with shampoo. The most relaxing facial ever (I almost fell asleep). Made me feel comfortable with my own facial skin. Sitting area with water and snacks should either be necessary. Honest consultation (I only need facials a few times a year at most). Great brands, I want everything Colorescience now! Add yourself to the mailing list! You'll receive notice of sales/events. Such sales are very difficult to find elsewhere on such products (trust me, I searched). I won a free VibraDermabrasion session!! AND received $50 off my first facial as a new client. Woohoo for Yelp! event notices. Services tailored to your personal needs. Prices are competitive with services provided, though can be expensive for some (e.g. college students). Located in Marketplace, convenient!

I found this business on Yelp, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Ok. So first I had a vibradermabrasion with Miros. Cool chick. She explained what she was doing as she did it and even did a few extractions for me. I loved this procedure and it really did do wonders attacking the population of blackheads that seem to make my t-zone their home coninciding with certain times of the month. She gave me information about some products she thought would benefit me but never got pushy or overly salesperson-like. Good times, I'm a happy girl. Then I go to pay, and stupid me only had a credit card and zero cash. How embarassing that I discovered this AFTER I paid for the procedure and had nothing to tip her with. ( I had misplaced my debit card, well actually I lost it in the abyss known as my husband's truck and later recovered it and was unable to skip over to the Target and get some $$) . I promised that I would come back with a tip. I'm sure the girls were calling bullshit on me but I did return with a card and cash for Miros.
I returned because I basically fell in love with this place and scheduled myself some more self-spoiling and made an appointment for the ever-dreaded laser hair removal. You know, I think I am just getting to a point where I feel like enough with spending twenty bucks here, forty here, wax, shave, ...forget it!!!! I just want to pay and get it over with and not bother ever again. So I have completed round one of armpit wars. It hurt, but I didn't want to be a va-jay-jay - everytime I was about to ask her to stop it passed and I toughed it out. Next time I'll just pop some happy pills beforehand- we shall see how that works out.
The staff members here are great, and I'm a pretty harsh critic. They all seem happy to be there and get along well. I definitely was liking the medical influence there because I'm really not into the whole muzak/granola hippie stuff that some spas exude. Totally professional. I do believe I am in the beginning stages of an addiction to this place.
I've been going to Blu Cocoon since they opened earlier this year. I had just moved to California and was actually looking for a place to get facials that had a nurse/doctor on staff. Well, the spa gods were looking over me and I found Blu Cocoon. The prices are very reasonable and I love the specials that they run on top of the low prices. The monthly facials and Obagi series have worked wonderfully and I recieve consistent compliements on how clear and smooth my skin looks. I've also done the laser hair removal and my only regret is that I didn't do it years ago.

Blu Cocoon Med Spa has superior customer service and a very knowledgeable staff. They answered all of my questions, and gave me an effective skin care regimen that has made my skin event better than ever. This place is great! Even as a man at a med spa, I felt immediately welcomed and comfortable with the staff. I think everyone interested in taking care of their skin should pay Blu Cocoon a visit!

the staff are really friendly and genuine. i have a friend who opened up her own business w/ her sister so i am always for supporting sister owned businesses. my consultant was great. the nurse was very knowledgeable and upbeat. i never felt pressured but i walked away purchasing a package of 5 laser treatments. my first treatment, the nurse totally took care of me. i wasn't too nervous but she always made sure i was ok. even after my treatment, i got 2 follow up phones calls from them asking if everything was fine. during my 2nd treatment i still the genuine care of the nurse and she made sure to take care of me. i have been happy so far with the results and with blu cocoon.
i must say that laser hair removal is awesome. i'm so glad i don't have to shave/pluck my armpits anymore. it definitely does hurt but it's worth the pain.

I am so happy that I found this place! I really like Blu Cocoon for so many reasons and I am a very discerning laser client! I'll explain...
I have taken my time to find a laser hair removal facility in the Bay Area(months). Let me start by saying that I have had laser hair removal done for years and I've had bad experiences and incredibly good experiences. My laser experiences span three states (Texas, Florida and California) and 4-5 years. Hopefully, my experience will help those not-so-seasoned laserphiles. Here are a few general tips and some details about Blu Cocoon.
1) Just because the facility is overseen by doctors and/or run by nurses doesn't mean you will get quality results, i.e. that the person is a nurse or doctor doesn't mean much if they don't have the training or experience with lasers. Make sure they have training (certifications) and experience with lasers.
2) Paying for big packages up front carries certain risks.
- I purchased a $1,500 series of treatments from the city's most posh (and well established) med spa only to have them go bankrupt a month after I started my sessions. Ouch! (bankruptcy = no refund) I've relayed this story many times to various laser facilities and have heard that this happens quite often in the industry. Better laser facilities are willing to let you pay-as-you-go if you just ask. Also, the better facilities do not have high pressure sales. They just don't. This has been my consistent experience.
-The technique and personality of the person operating the laser is the most important factor in determining good results (more important than the laser itself). If she or he is sloppy, inattentive (to you or the laser settings), rushed, under qualified/ under trained/ under experienced, you can have very bad results, including burns, disfigurement, unnecessarily painful treatments, or simply little to no hair loss after a lot of expense and time. Lesson learned- make sure your laser person knows their stuff (which means you have to know your stuff!) and you like the way you are being treated during a session. Someone's manners in the sales room might be very different than their manners in the the treatment room. There should be communication happening during your treatment on the part of the laser operator. i.e. "How are you doing?", "Are you doing okay?", "Do you need a break?" etc. You should feel like this person respects you, cares about you and is passionate about what they do.
-If you have paid for a package of treatments and after the first or second treatment, you find that you do not care for the person giving your treatments (or that they don't *care* about you), you may find it difficult or near impossible to get your money back from a "package purchase". Pay-as-you-go eliminates this problem.
3) Be realistic about results and commit for the long term. You will see hair falling out within about two weeks of each treatment, but usually 5-8 treatments are needed to see overall significant hair (growth) reduction. Even then, you may have strays that need to be "touched up" now and then.
-hair grows in three stages, lasers only affect the hairs that are in the growth stage, this is the reason for 6-8 week time between treatments.
-the laser will not cover every millimeter of your skin during a given treatment, there will be little areas between laser pulses that do not receive enough heat/light to damage the hair follicles. This factor is reduced by ensuring you have someone who is well trained, results oriented, and will take the time required to properly do your treatment.
Finally, don't make the mistake of thinking that the posh look of marketing materials, website, or "the environment" of the laser facility determines the quality of care you will receive. Appearances can be deceiving. Along the same lines, don't think that a lowly looking place means you have found an "diamond in the rough" and you will get a bargain. Proper hygiene and patient comfort should be a priority in any medical/health/spa facility.
After *much* research on the net, phone calls and consultations, I narrowed it down to three locations in South Bay. Blu Cocoon is the *one* that met ALL of my criteria. The staff is professional, caring and friendly. No high pressure sales. The atmosphere is super clean, stylish and comfy. They offer a variety of services and they know their stuff!. And after several treatments, I am one happy laserphile!
Also, I love the mineral sunscreen they sell! It is the FIRST (as in first one in my entire life) sunscreen I have been able to use that does not cause acne on my sensitive face. Oh, and they have this amazing lipstick that really does last all day...woohoo! Good stuff & good people at Blu Cocoon. :-)

Just purchased a package here for various skin treatments (mostly focused on under-eye area). I'm just happy that there are non-surgical alternatives to consider nowadays, for small problem areas.
I will update as I go along, but so far Cristina has been very helpful in answering all my questions and I look forward to starting my treatments here. Yay!

UPDATE: I have had one treatment so far and it was GREAT! I am looking forward to my next one... I never thought I could say getting a slightly painful treatment could be fun, but Cristina made it fun! We were laughing up a storm, good thing I was her last client, haha. Will update after I have more treatments...
Update 2: Well, the undereye treatments made no difference, I'm sad to report :( There goes another $400 down the drain *sigh*. Meanwhile though, I DID enjoy the photo-facial treatments, they were FABULOUS and I can't wait to get another one. I have some other payments I pre-payed for but haven't had time to collect on yet, so I will have more updates as I go along.
I'm gonna drop it down to 4 stars for now (because of the undereye treatment failure) :( but I will update again as I go along with the other treatments, hopefully I can give it 5 stars again soon :)

Cristina and her team rocks! I went to my first facial and vibraderm and Miros was so cool. I use to go to a spa in Palo Alto, but wanted something closer and I found it! Miros explained to me everything she was doing. After my session my face was bright red from all the congestion but I knew it would be worth it. I screwed up the next day by putting on my facial cream that made me freakin break out. I left a message for Cristina and she called me right away and I explained to her my break out. She looked up the products I told her I used. She advised me to by some cortizon and I did. Even though the break out (rash like) was scary I knew it was because my face was still sensitive from the session I had earlier. Once my face cleared up (3-4 days) I could tell how clear and clean my face looked and felt. I was so impressed that I made an appt for my daughter. She has really bad acne (teenager) and I thought maybe a facial would help. IT DID! It's been 2 and 1/2 weeks and her face is clearing up. Miros squeezed the crap out of her face and it's been clearing up slowly but better than the dermatologist stuff we have been using. I will be going back for my facial and one for my daughter.
