Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church
Category: Religious Organizations
This church seems to know who it is theologically, politically and socially. The pastors, staff and leadership seem rock solid, progressive and thoughtful.
Give them a visit if you are in the area and looking for a church.
DISCLAIMER:
Yes, I give every church FIVE STARS not because every church is superfantablous, but every church that I will review can certainly be a FIVER to someone. I will never review a church that I would not be willing to try myself if I were looking. No need to bad mouth freaky-scary churches because they are uh, well, freaky and scary.
This German store/bar/restaurant is pretty cool, the best part of which being that there was also LIVE - yes LIVE - accordion music in the background. Never has the sound of music sounded so good.
Rarely do I go into an eating establishment and have no freaking clue what is on the menu. I settled on the crab cakes and they were yummy. Pretty sure every other dish included sausage in some form and my friends say the beer was good.
If you are in and around the area, it is definitely worth a stop!

She directed me to Third World Cafe. Cool
When I can in from the rain, I first noticed that there were a good number of people. But, the lay-out is REALLY bad. They could arrange tables, chairs, etc, to make it much more friendly to computer users. It seems like they want people to hang out, but it sure ain't built for it. Few outlets and sparse tables has many a back-aches in here from trying to get settled. The decor and design seems disjointed and without a theme, almost like it is not quite finished. Also, my iced-coffee was served in one of those plastic cafeteria cups. Not kitschy nor cool.
Still . . . the vibe is cool, wi-fi with purchase of $4 and it's the only thing around here apparently. They should hope it stays that way.

The world is going C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!!
Damn . . . I liked it.
Curses you Italian good food makers!
The best part was sitting outside on a sunny Friday afternoon just watching people/students/slackers scurry down the sidewalk like little ants, while my lazy butt was thinking, "Yeah, I am a pastor . . . and this is part of my job!"
Life is good my friends, life is good.

Neighborhood: Mission
hipster livin'
Chrome bag havin'
MacBook typin'
Muddy's too . . .
junkie livin'

dirty bein'
Then Mission Creek might be for you. What Mission Creek Cafe lacks in the extreme nature of some other cafes, they make it up in the being a solid all-around place to hang out and get some work done.
1 = Outlets freaking EVERYWHERE
1 = Free WiFi from ZRnet
1 = Level tables and lots of room
1 = Jazz in the background
The only reason it doesn't get a FIVER is because it does not have as much character than the aforementioned Ritual and Muddy's. Either skank it up or gentrify already ;-)
Brian has been there from almost 10 years and from "the word on the street' has helped Parkville Presbyterian become a really healthy and vibrant community of faith! If you want a larger church, with a solid theological perspective, put it on the list.
